The Midlands STEM Leadership & Strategy Symposium, held from July 23–25, 2025, at Midlands State University (MSU) in Gweru, Zimbabwe, was a groundbreaking gathering of minds shaping the future of education and innovation in Africa. The event brought together a distinguished array of experts and keynote speakers from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Russia, Turkey, the USA, the UK, Rwanda, Mauritius, and Nigeria to engage in high-level discussions, hands-on workshops, and impactful public lectures. The symposium was not just a talkshop — it was action-driven. Following the main sessions, a week-long post-symposium training equipped lecturers, teachers, and education leaders with cutting-edge skills in coding, robotics, and STEM integration, delivered by global institutions such as Tangible Africa, Clark University, First Lego League, Micro:bit Education, and the World Robot Olympiad. The event marked a significant step forward in redefining STEM education on the continent.
Themed “Pioneering a Digital Future through Education and Innovation,” aims to advance STEM education and innovation in the region. It will bring together key stakeholders, including academic institutions, government representatives, industry leaders, and international partners, to develop sustainable strategies for integrating coding, robotics, and digital skills into education systems. With delegates and representation from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi, Lesotho, Mozambique, Liberia, Zambia, Nigeria and other regional partners, the symposium will serve as a hub for exchanging ideas, building partnerships, and driving progress in Innovation, STEM education and Technology

The Galactic Einsteins not only excel in competitions but also inspire and mentor the next generation of STEM enthusiasts, fostering a community of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
This team embodies an inspiring journey of determination and excellence. Originating from the humble beginnings of Zwelethemba Township, these students began their journey learning how to use a computer mouse. Within just one year, with very limited resources, they transformed into national robotics champions.
